De La hoya was to use Sturm as a "tune up" and nearly lost. Sturm isn't to be taken lightly but he himself hit in on the head when he said he can outbox Abraham. A fight between Sturm and Abraham could not turn into a slugfest and turn into good news for Sturm.

But I love this fight on HBO. What boxing fan wouldn't. Abraham has made it clear he will fight anyone - even with a broken jaw. He visible lack of respect for fighters (see giving Edison Miranda the middle finger in the pre-fight presser for part 2) is interesting. I wonder if this is a psychological tool he uses or if he clearly thinks his brute strenght and power can beat anyone at 160.

Should he beat Sturm, which I think he does late in the fight, a bout with Pavlik may be the best middle weight fight that has taken place in many years.

          Let the wars begin.
And hopefully it would become some blockbuster trilogy. Boxing's been missing a good one of those at the heavier weight classes.

this will be a great fight, but i don't see sturm outboxing abraham for 12 rounds. at some point sturm will get caught and dropped. king arthur won his last two fights by knockout, he'll be looking to ktfo sturm. whoever wins, it sets up unification with pavlik

I got Sturm if the fight ever happens. Sturm is a brilliant boxer with a great jab. Hes very underated. He uses angles well and knows when to throw a punch. Even though he had a minor set back in Javier he avenged that and proved it was just an off night.

Arthur is too wide with his punches and somewhat slow when he throws them. He needs to learn how to throw quick straight right hands better if he wants to beat Sturm.

              Sturm by close UD
