Al Bundy's take on MMA. Sorry if this is a repost.
Al Bundy "Liddell couldn't win a novice Golden Gloves"

That should be pretty obvious. He's a kickboxer, and most likely would not be that competitive in any serious kickboxing tournament. Yes his fighting style mostly consisted of punches, but that's because you have to anticipate and guard against the shot at all times in MMA (sprawl and brawl). This video has been around for quite awhile, Ed O'Neill is a well-known associate of the Gracies (with all the attendant biases), receiving his black belt in BJJ under Rorion. -
Couldn't watch it all, too long. But I totally agree, in terms of boxing skill Chuck Lidell is seriously lacking.
His hands low wide fisted style would leave him unconcious against a decent boxer.Comment

Keeping the hands low leaves one in position to sprawl quickly, although in Liddell's case it is more of a personal stylistic quirk and indeed a defensive flaw (shown when his reflexes slowed and he started getting caught heavily). Note that I'm by no means a Liddell fan or supporter, just elaborating.Comment

He make sperfect sense. But he's a purist for BJJ and JJ. So his comments like "Why let them up?" is his way of saying "I love BJJ".
UFC in the mid 90s was really the first ever PPV show for an advertisement. For BJJ.Comment
