I might pursue a career in announcing. Everyone tells me I sound just like Buffer when I imitate him. I definitely dont sound like him when I speak normally but I have a good voice for this kind of ****.

Roy was just someone I could relate too. A nice guy who loves basketball, boxing, rap music and believes in god. Roy was a sensational fighter in the ring. He'll always be my favorite for sure. I'm also happy he fought Hanshaw, Tito and Ajamu. It gave us RJJ fans one last time to experience the old days again. When he won those fights, it felt like roy was still the man, even though he wasn't really.

by the way, Reed, GREAT POST. Green k this man everybody, that was good stuff.

Im greatful it didnt end with Prince Badi or Anthony Hanshaw. Greatful that he worked his way back up to one more huge fight. Greatful that HBO got to do a 24/7 with him... you could see he seemed more peaceful, and was having fun again.. and that was great to see.. Im greatful that he and Joe were/are friends, and showed each other respect before and after the fight.

His Prime ended years ago, Recovering from 2 devastating knockouts, hasn't faced top opposition in almost 5 years, He's 2 months shy of 40 years old, his eye was swollen shut, But he fought on. Half his face covered in blood, But he fought on. Reflexes --- gone, slowing down every round, But he fought on. every minute that past, he/we realized this wasn't gonna go his way, that he just didn't have it anymore. But he fought on. He didn't give up. He didn't quit. Even in the 12th round, he put all his energy into being as alive as he could be. He did as much as his body would allow him to do.

His career ended against one of the best, if not the best fighter in the world today... so on that note.. im glad it was Joe Calzaghe that ended his career.. and not some bum...

In a weird way... It was almost like his whole career was all inside one fight... The very beginning looking almost like a Prime Roy Jones Jr., his body looked good, he looked quick, and dropped Joe in the first round... This was the last we would ever see of the Great RJ... with every round that went on, he lost more and more of what he once had... by the end of the fight, he was a beaten old man... whose mind believed, but body would not agree.

We will never forget Roy, The windmill punches, 4 hooks in one second, the chicken moves, "pound for pound the baddest man throwin down", hands behind the back, from middleweight to heavyweight, fastest straight right hand u ever seen, uppercuts from halfway across the ring... we shall never forget.

As time goes on, Ill never forget my favorite moment of every Roy Jones Jr fight.

I will definitely miss you in the ring... I think we all will.
At least he had a sick moment in the 1st. Just as the crowd starts chanting "U.S.A!" he puts joe down with a 2piece **** ****.

The whole place went nuts and when the bell rang, Jones just stood and watched Calzaghe walk back to his corner.

It turned out to be a sad night but he definitely gave his fans a brief flashback.

He has quickly made himself one of the p4p worst posters in this forum, not only for what he said here but with other comments as well such as this:

It was certainly not the best way to go out for Roy, I think he should have retired a long time ago but that's how it is for almost all of them.

Sugar Ray Robinson, Ray Leonard, Muhammad Ali, Willie Pep, Roberto Duran, Julio Cesar Chavez, Pernell Whitaker and other great fighters all fought on for too long and had even more embarrassing losses.

You can count the greats who retired at the right time with your fingers.
