    Away from what?

Don't be a ****ing ******. He was running from Lacy... then Kessler... then Pavlik and now you want us to believe Chad Dawson is the man to beat him? It's just because he has a '0' that you're saying that you fool.

I get the sense even his most ardent fans (the intelligent ones) are a little wistful at this point. Can't blame them, it was really weird watching a faded Jones Saturday night. And it's a win that, ultimately, and sadly, will be remembered more as Jones' last night on the big stage.

Ultimately, Calzaghe has every right to retire. This fight didn't really add or take anything away from his legacy. But every fighter retires with a bunch of what if's. It's what you did that counts. Calzaghe's legacy is secure as the greatest super-middle ever, and one of the best fighters of his time. Not an ATG but a HOF'er for sure. Of course, we've heard this before.

There's always the next guy. That's been the case for no one else like it has for Calzaghe, because a lot of people just haven't seen him enough, are still surprised by what they think is a sudden un deserved rise to the top. Ricky outlined the numerous guys people claim is the only guy he now must beat, every time there's then a new one. Pavlik was the most recent people said was definitely the only last one, since he got exposed it's conveniently now Dawson, so it's rather laughable I'm afraid.

Calzaghe beat the LHW #1 in a poor performance for him, and nitemare style wise. He rightfully became the LHW #1 at that point, and really looked like it in beating Jones just off his speed, movement and skill. The guys pushing 37 and people just wana see him lose for a barage of criticisms of I told you so as if one losss when he's old undermines everything, when the same isn't true for guys around his age he's beaten.

I wouldn't mind him facing Dawson as based on Saturday he beats him comfortably as polls agree. It's not a big fight, a big name or someone whom has proven themselves enough. He's had a fairy tale ending and is quite entitled to now retire several years after once saying he wanted to. He's gone beyond that, give the guy a break and let him retire.

Calzaghe has every right to reture at this point. He has done everything he has set out and there is for him.

          Dawson? C'mon what a joke.

Just an aside but...why is fighting Dawson a joke and not a washed up Jones on PPV (as your final fight, no less), seeing as how Dawson beat the two guys who beat an even YOUNGER Roy first?

People only want Joe to fight on because they enjoy seeing him fight and how he competes against different fighters...

It's sad because his career is coming to the end at the near beginning of the start of interest I have in boxing.
