Anthony Mundine Looks To De La Hoya To Secure Sturm Shot

Former WBA super middleweight champion Anthony Mundine is look to Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions to help him secure a shot at WBA middleweight champ Felix Sturm. Mundine recently dropped down in weight to chase some of the bigger paydays at 160-pounds. He flew to the United States a few weeks ago and had a very positive meeting with De La Hoya. He told Oscar that he would like to fight Sturm as soon as possible. [details]

Mundine and Sturm could be a good fight. Mundine is certainly not the fighter people think he is, he deserves more credit than he gets. He fights some tomato cans but he is a pretty good fighter.

Of course a Kessler fan would say that

I knew you would say that. I'm serious though, he is like a poor mans Roy Jones but is pretty good fighter.

For a guy who went from Rugby to Boxing in like, what? his late 20s? He is certainly doing pretty good.

Sturm's got good defense, but I think Mundine can beat him. He's got better power and better handspeed than Sturm.

I actually think Sturm would come out top in this fight. Hope it comes off though. I would rather see Abraham/Sturm but i would be happy settling for this.

I thought he was fighting Soliman next?

Anyway Mundine fighting a german defensive specialist usually only has one result. Mundine on a stretcher.
