He can if he wants. In his mind and the mind of his fans, his legacy is secured. I think, IMO, Joe has been labeled "the fighter you love to hate." As Hatton said, if he has enough money, let him go.

if he retired i wouldnt disrespect that. Although if he carried on it could benifit his career win or lose and stop the trash talking haters.

Fight Dawson, Froch, Pavlik, hopkins and kessler again, fight roy jones again, roy wouldnt say no to a huge fight at cardiff! All these would be mega fights.
All these fights joes more than capable of winning, and would definently add to his legacy. Its a similar sitution i thought about when mayweather jr suddenly retired. If he fought cotto, margarito, williams, cintron even a fight when junior witter was considered 2nd best at 140. There all fights that add to a fighters legacy. All the legends fought the best and gave pretty much every worthy challenger a shot and even if they lost it would only add memorable moments in there career.

Calzaghe WILL fight again... he will want to pay his fans a farewell fight in Wales. hopefully he will fight Dawson or Bhop.

If he is really brave he'll fight Haye at CW or move up to HW and challenge one of the klit bros... if he beat one of the Klit bros, I will believe in his ATG status.

but a fight against b hop in wales would be interesting, and even dawson. I think what the british public would prefer more than both them fights would froch. British showdown.

LOL, if Joe Calzaghe done that he is THE GREATEST FIGHTER OF ALL TIME.

I reckon he fights one more fight, about a year down the road.

Joe has got more to lose than ANYONE he could fight next. His 46-0 means everything to him. I love the guy and he is my ****ing hero but i want him to retire because...

a. Any rematch is worth jack ****, if he beat Bhop again he would hear the "Bhop at his prime would own him" argument again. If hhe lost to Bhop, then it would need a decider surely, what a waste of time that would all be. Of course Hopkins WANTS a rematch, he NEEDS it, Joe doesnt.

b. If he fights someone like Haye, he will get knocked out, these guys are seriously bigger than Joe, and it would be a dumb move. He is not a powerful LH and needs to make sure he doesnt push his limitations.

c. If he fights a young gun like Froch or Dawson, he will find himself in a similar situation that Eubank was in when Joe beat him a decade ago, all the young guns need his ass to push thier own careers forward.

d. He WILL LOSE, its the only certainty in sport, if he keeps pushing the 0 out there, it WILL go, it has to. Nothing is forever.

e. No matter what he does, there are fight fans out there who will never ever give him credit, so whats the point of even trying.

Retire Joe, youve nothing to prove and everything to lose because that one defeat, if and when it comes, will destroy you, you will never ever forgive yourself.

Having an unbeaten record is important to JC and staying on therer is the possiblity he could lose his record.
But i think retiring when there are a few more fighters to beat isnt good as well really. If he did lose to a great fighter at least JC has gone 10 years without being beaten and that is an achievement in itself.

But if you want to keep a zero record as anyone would then get out if it so important to you.
