if joe is so great than why didnt he move up in weight 7-8 years ago when RJJ was in his prime? why did he wait till RJJ was 2 months away from 40 to fight him? Cause he knew a prime Roy would hav whooped his a$$. So instead he stayed in his home country fighting bums and journeymen in a weak division for over a decade. In the UK Calzaghe maybe an ATG but outside the UK he aint ****. He will never be considered an ATG outside of the UK. End of.


Good fighters get remembered but GREAT fighters are never forgotten. when Joe retires he will be forgotten.

Not a very highly rated one if on the list at all. I won't discredit his win against Roy though. I know Roy is past it and so did everyone else, but Joe put on a boxing show Sat. night. Can't hate.

that's the thing. it will be hard for him to get credit outside of the uk seeing as most of his fights took place there. americans know him for what, 4 fights? if he loses to dawson the excuses will be because dawson's younger, etc. cal is just in a tough spot because most of his fights didn't take place in america. even still, he wouldn't be ranked higher than jones. marciono isn't higher than louis. holmes isn't higher than ali. spinks isn't higher than holmes. camacho isn't higher than ray leanord. trinidad and de la hoya aren't higher than chavez and whittaker.
