    Alton Merkerson

This guy never seems to do or say much, nothing useful anyways. I think after all Roy Sr taught Jr. I think he just basicly did his own thing. I dont think Merk played much of a role at all besides replacing his father because they didnt have a good relationship. I think a known good trainer would of made world of difference especially later in his career where he had to rely more on fundamentals instead of superb athletic ability.

Cuz it appears alton merkerson dont ever have too much useful too say. and dont get me started on roys horrible cutman, that dude did $h!t all.

I can't stand looking at your avatar/sig. Keeps me thinking "what IF Roy would've fought him in his prime"

I'll tell you what, Roy would've gone home after one minute's worth of work.

    Roy KO1 Calzaghe.

Unfortunately we don't live in the past or some fantasy parallel universe so Calzaghe UD12 Jones.

    Very sad.

To stay on topic, I am dissapointed with Jones' corner (especially the cutman)

but the sad truth of reality is that he could've had the best advice and I still don't think he could've won. It just wasnt in him.

Yeah I was suprised they couldn't get the cut to stop. Idk bout this fight but I've never seen Merkerson offer any real advice. At this point Roy might not need advice or he doesn't want someone shouting at him in the corner.

Merk was bad, but the cutman was the worst. The lazy prick couldn't even get in the ring to help Roy, he was half assed trying to help him from the apron by reaching through the ropes.

And when he did try to help Roy, he failed miserably. The cut bled out the entire fight, and the guy never even put vaseline on it, let alone adrenaline.

But yeah, Merk was bad too. I know it wouldn't have mattered any if Merk was giving Roy advice, but he basically sat there like a stooly and just kept saying "I know, I know".
