I remember when Roy got knocked out by Tarver and somebody posted up the video right after the fight. The Camera was in the room while the fight was going on and when Roy was knocked down...the kid was like: Oh, No, get up boo, get up...cry, cry, cry.


Probably not nearly as bad as seeing Joe Louis being Knocked out by Marciano. People say that was a sad moment. Even Marciano cried.

After watching the Roy Jones Jr. fight saturday night, I got this empty feeling inside. The legend is dead, long gone are the days of hitting from behind his back, or sticking his face out trying to get James Toney to copy him, only to nail him down with a super fast punch. We should all bow our heads in a moment of silence, and wear black armbands.

I'm not upset with Joe beating Roy. And i'm not upset with Roy's performance, i'm upset with father time and taking away the skills of yet another of our greatest champions. Later that night after the fight, there was a ppv show called "Knockouts", and the description described it as a collection of spectacular knockouts from todays stars including pound for pound great Roy Jones Jr.

In tribute to Superman, I watched. It was even more depressing seeing how great he really was and what he had left that night. I would kill for the 1988 Roy Jones to be coming back up through the ranks. How great would it be if Mike Tyson's career was just starting? I am saddened when I think about it too hard.

I had some friends and family over to watch the fight, and none of them keep up with boxing. I had to try and get them to believe how great Roy Jones Jr. was, but they found it hard to believe after watching the fight. If only it could have been Roy Jones vs. James Toney or Virgil Hill that took place that night, that way they would understand how great he was and why I root for him so hard.

I could go on forever, but I wont because I think I am going to cry. R.I.P. great champion, live you life healthy and wealthy while you are still wise. Thank you for the memories, you will always be considered the greatest pound for pound fighter of my generation. And in the future I know we will all see you whipping Ray Robinson, Leonard, Hagler, Duran, Hearns, Hopkins, and the rest up in boxing valhalla where legends never die, they just keep fighting.

I had the same problem with people from work. I just gave up in the end in full knowledge that I was right and they was wrong, and then I went and bought this....
