I Hate Doing This, But I Must.............

I just finished watching the fight (I watch it twice) and I give Joe Calzaghe all the credit in the world. As many of you know I hate Calzaghe, I just REALLY, REALLY dislike the guy, but he put on a great performance. RJJ isn't the RJJ of old but he isn't shot either. All this BS talk in here about RJJ being shot, thats totally untrue and just a biased view point. RJJ had his speed and he had his power that night, he just wasn't pulling the trigger and I have come to realize that is because of Joe Calzaghe. Now I tip my hat off to Calzaghe, he fought a great fight that night and he won. I just thought since I was so hard on Calzaghe and the British fans, I give credit were credit is due. So there you go, great fight, great style, great fighter

His stamina was gone. You can't claim he was the same Roy jones of old.

Agreed but he is not as shot as many like to think either. Saying that I think JC is on the slide, and ready for the taking. JC seemed to me not as strong in the latter rounds as usual, maybe it was the higher weight but I think it has more to do with his age.

And the fact he damaged his hand in round 8.

While Joe did put on a good performance and he deserves credit for the victory Roy is shot. One of the things that made him so great was his reflexes and defensive speed which are gone. All the times Joe had his hands down he should have been getting hit and in the past would have. I think part of Roy not pulling the trigger had to do with his reflexes. He just can't react as fast as he used to and avoid the shots Joe would throw back.
