I have to agree with this thread. I dont enjoy watching him fight either, it was a showboat contest against Jones.Comment

They may be true for some but not for everyone. Ricky Hatton is one of my favorite fighters. I'm rooting for David Haye to take over the heavyweight division. I'm sorry I don't like Calzaghe, but it has nothing to do with him being white or European.Comment

I'm a big Joe fan but I must say that his showboating pissed me off a bit. I know he and Roy have a lot of mutual respect and he did give full props to Roy after the fight and admitted that he was stunned in the first, which incidentally is the first time I've heard Joe say that. I fully understand that RJJ has done more than his fair share of showboating in the past, which may lead to some people saying that he deserves to be given a taste of his own medicine.
I however would disagree. I thought after I had finished watching the fight that maybe it would have been refreshing for Joe to have given Jones the respect he deserves, as a boxer who has achieved more than most fighters have in their careers and probably more than Joe, in the first 10 years of his.
Jones' legacy will probably go down as one of the greatest of all time, and certainly one of the best of my generation.
Joe is arguably the best ever to have come from Great Britain, and I don't think personally that his resume is flawed. Sure he's fought some poor fighters but so have a lot of great fighters and he only has Frank Warren to thank for that.
Ultimately this was an exhibition in which two formerly great world champions made a lot of money from what could be their last fight. This fight should have been a celebration of both fighters, and probably should have been stopped on cuts in the 7th, I think Joe dancing around Roy at the end was uncalled for, and was a little below the belt. It would be a shame if Calzaghe were to be remembered like that.Comment
