Oscar: What have you done lately?

I know some call DLH an ATG which IMO is nuts so instead of running my mouth like countless others do here and never back my words up I will provide what I consider evidence of the hype job DLH.

Let's examine his biggest wins: Whitaker, Vargas, JCC, Quartey, Gatti. Whitaker- was past his best and many felt the hype job DLH was given a gift. Vargas- was ruined by Tito and continues to lose to the top fighters even Mayorga. JCC- way past his best and shop worn from almost 100 fights. Quartey- good puncher but widely considered a notch below the divisions best. Gatti- good entertainer but lost to every major opponent he fought.

Let's look at other DLH fought: Tito, Hopkins, Mosley, Mayweather. Tito- losing the fight but chased the hype job out of the building to get the win. Hopkins- older in years but still too good and stopped DLH. Mosley- better handspeed and too determined for him TWICE. Mayweather- complete mismatch once Floyd decided to start fighting (don't believe the scorecards).

So gentlemen there you have it. The ATG *cough* DLH has basically done a great job of beating smaller men or men past their prime, but failed everytime he fought someone that posed a serious threat.

His next fight is against....surprise surprise....a smaller man in Pacquiao. Should DLH win he will probably proclaim it as his greatest victory and neglect to mention he beat a guy that should be fighting at least 3 divisions lower.

One day DLH will probably be in the HOF and I'm sure his fans will shower him with praise forgetting that DLH in hindsight never really lived up to his promise. DLH, what have you done lately?

biggest win of his career was what, vargas or mayorga?

he loses every big fight hes in. if he beats pac, then DLH is the real deal for sure, but he wont beat pac. i hate this fight because if pac wins, people give pac no credit and say DLH is shot, then if DLH wins people say pac was too small. i for one will give proper credit to the winner though, and look forward to an exciting fight.

I was thinking the same thing. If hype job does beat Pacman all it means is he proves beyond all doubt that he's the best at beating either naturally smaller, older, or on the verge of retirement fighters. He's the Ray Robinson of beating guys 2 or more divisions below his.

DLH's stardom outdoes his actual accomplishments, and he's done a helluva lot. I just don't respect the guy anymore. This Pac thing is ****in pathetic.

I love how everyone but Oscar De La Hoya replies to this thread.

Not that I was expecting him to, but oh well.

but hoya beat hector camacho right after he knocked the **** out of a prime sugar ray leonard. if calzaghe is getting credit for beating jones then this amazing achievement by hoya must not go unrewarded.
