the reason i think prime Hopkins and Jones beats Calz is because

the reason i think prime Hopkins and Jones beats Calz is because he is to open he has a poor defence his workrate is his defence when he keeps throwing and these versions of Jones ,Hopkins cant live with that however they both still mananged to drop him and hit him with clean shots

a prime B Hop,Jones v Calzaghe can let their hands go more and they both have faster reflexes and most importantly younger legs

make no mistake about it Joe is capitalizing on Jones,Hopkins stamina cause of their age to win these fights

some fighters naturally have better engines than others and Calzaghe is somemone with a GREAT engine

fighters with bad engines ODLH,Jermain Taylor,

    good engines Holyfield,Calzaghe

Prime Popkins had a crappy defense and very poor counter skills.
Joe mops the floor with Popkins any day of the week, any year of the decade.

Completely agree, but I don't think alot of other people will right now - we're still in the midst of the hyteria from last night. They're still making the gifs of the spastic dances from last night.

Telling fact is - they both put his ass on the canvas. And for the first half of the fight, we both landing more effective, cleaner punches. Then, his workrate and swarming style overwhelmed them.

This is why I don't particularly love the idea of a B-Hop rematch. It will be the same story again.

Give Calzaghe credit - he's going to retire beating Hopkins and RJJ, and everyone will forget that Jermain Taylor, Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson had got their first. Genius.

You seriously don't know your boxing. Prime B-Hop, like Duran & James Toney had one of the greatest defense on the inside. I'm sure you haven't seen a prime B-Hop fight...

                2001 Popkins is untested.
His best wins are over journeymen and blown up welterweights.

agreed Hopkins beaT Pav but Pavlik was very inactive throughout that fight its not like Hopkins suddenly turned into Henry Armstrong he was still clinging on at the end of the fight cause he was gassed AGAIN

                    Right thread, wrong time.

Bump it in two weeks and a serious discussion might ensue.
