This U.K/U.S Bull**** is boring as hell.

I don't understand the venom and immaturity that spills out after these fights.

I was rooting for Joe, who I think fought a great fight but I found it very difficult to see Jones taking hits as the fight went on. I wanted him to pull out a 'vintage Jones' round later on in the fight, even just so that people could say they saw 'glimpses' of a prime Roy.

Now the forum is dominated by Calzaghe fans slandering the U.S and Jones and vice versa.

I wish the fight had come earlier, of course. We all do. But I think Calzaghe would be competitive with anyone at super middleweight. I didn't particularly like the taunting in the final round either. However I think he performed his job brilliantly and certainly don't think he deserves the venom aimed at him in this forum.

Jones was a class act and fought bravely. And I would have thought his dip**** corner had heard of vaseline. I think he is far removed from his prime but I happen to think that Joe is past his as well.

Either way respect should be given to BOTH fighters if there are real boxing fans out here. All of this boring, predictable, bull**** U.S/U.K hysteria is bringing the place down.

This is boxing, the 'noble' art.

And all the Calzaghe haters are former Gayweather nut-huggers.
      Coincidence?! I think not.

Lord 13, in just two posts you have managed to use the juvenile phrases '******ed', 'nut-huggers' and 'Gayweather'. I was hoping to get an intelligent discussion going. If you have nothing to offer, there are plenty of other threads you can pollute.

Or to put it more concisely; jog on.

P.S Nice one Larry, good to see a boxing fan out here.

I don't see the point in it either, it's ******ed. But the **** has been going on for as long as I've been a member here.

The only European fans I don't see doing it are the Klitschko fans. Wladimir has been beating the dogpiss out of America's best Heavyweights for the better part of his career, but yet I don't get bombared with 50 million "Klitschko exposes another American hypejob" type threads everytime Wlad wins. Those guys are all top notch posters IMO, and I'm an American Wlad fan myself.

To be fair though, when Floyd embarassed Ricky last year, we Americans had our fun with it because we never thought much of Ricky to begin with.

But if Haye beats Barret and Hatton beats Malignaggi (As I expect them to), I'm taking off from this place until next year. It's gotten too immature, at first it was funny to call the limeys "green teefs" and hear them call me a "fat yank" but it's basically all I read anymore and it's garbage.

I can't even question Joe Calzaghe's legitimacy without being accused of being anti-European, despite the fact that Lennox Lewis is on my ATG HW list, and Wlad and Arthur Abraham are current favorites of mine.

I think you called it absolutely right with the word "boring".

I mean, it's sad, pathetic, illogical, etc..

But above all, it's boring. I don't even go into the threads. I swerved this thread until I re-read the title of it and saw you were having a go.

His taunting in the end's purpose was to give Roy a chance to punch back, Joe was pulling his punches at the end.

The first day I got into boxing history was when my dad showed me footage of Ali dodging Ernie Terrell's bombs with minimal head movement. After that I followed his career and threaded the heavyweight throne backwards and forwards in time. From there I've travelled down the weight divisions. This is 10 years ago. I have favourite fighters from too many countries to bother naming, as do the majority of boxing 'fan's who can watch a beautiful sport without prejudice.

There are great fighters all across the globe. This fact can only be contested by morons who are more kin to the football hooligans who offer hatred to any side other than their own. I've learnt a huge deal from this forum over this years, but in recent times it's hit a low; you have scan through five 'nuthugger' threads to find a thread about the sport of boxing. The majority are occupied by this juvenile playground mentality.
