    One reason why I wouldn't like to see Dawson v Calzaghe...

    Firstly, let me say, I would love to see this fight. I think Dawson is tremendous and I definitely see him beating Calzaghe.

    However, I wouldn't like to see him beat a diminished version of Calzaghe.

    Is he dimished yet? No, he's past his physical prime, but if you look at his fights against Kessler an RJJ, he is still close to his peak.

    But let's say Dawson fights him at 37, and Calzaghe is noticably slower and his workrate has dropped big time. How much joy could Dawson fans take from that victory, you know? Knowing that he didn't beat a stellar version of Calzaghe.

    It's why I think some of you should calm down regarding last night's fight. Calzaghe beat a diminished version of RJJ. It's a name on his record, nothing else.

    If Dawson were to fight Calzaghe, it would have to happen soon. And if Calzaghe was very competitive during the fight and lost, then I would really enjoy the victory, as a Dawson fan and Calzaghe hater.

    But where's the sense of satisfaction in beating a diminished version of a fighter?

        One reason I wouldn't like to see it;
        The outcome is too predictable...

          I think Dawson would be given a boxing lesson from a guy who is a class above him at this time, he's overhyped and not ready.

          He is the future of LHW most likely but he's not nearly ready yet.

            Oh, he obviously doesn't give a **** about beating old, diminished version of great fighters.

            But if Dawson won, you'd hear how he only did so because Calzaghe was 37. And maybe it would be a contributing factor.

            And you just think....what's the point?

              I would like to see it but i do not see dawson beating Calzaghe he takes too long off and would take a lot to the body.

              Id like to see Hopkins vs Dawson then the winner get Calzaghe.

                I'm saying it means nothing for Calzaghe to have beaten diminished versions of Hopkins and RJJ. That's my point.

                How much can you enjoy victories over men who you're only beating because you're younger than them and can comfortably outwork them?

                  it is just a name win, not beating a prime fighter. he might as well won against a fighter with a 16-19 record. roy is what, 3-4 in his last 7 fights.
