I like Joe and I don't think this win means a whole lot. It was nice the way Joe came back after Roy dropped him, but we already knew Joe had heart.

then Pacquiao beat David Diaz who's hardly a great fighter.

What young unbeaten champions has Pacquiao beaten
and what divisions has he dominated ?

I like Pacquiao but Calzaghe has done more
and he didnt get stopped twice in his own backyard either.

The thing is pacman and calzaghe both have a similar resume, But Joe beat younger fighters like Lacy and Kessler and pacman hasnt been able to do the same.

Once inside the ring anything can happen, there is no pre determined pattern. Roy in his prime isn't a god, isn't invincible.

He was an amazing fighter yes, one of the greatest but everyone saying Roy would dance around Joe, slaughter Joe are talking out of there arse.

It only takes a lapse of concentration from a fighter and their in trouble, one split second taking your eye off the ball and that's it, the other guy could land clean with a hammering shot and its good night.

I'm a huge Calzaghe fan...was delighted he picked up wins over Jones and Hopkins, however, if Jones Jr. was in his prime then i fully believe that Calzaghe would not have beaten him. A Roy in his prime would have ended Calzaghe or anyone else for that matter after the knockdown.
In terms of Calzaghe's career, i feel he's had a good one but not an excellent one. I give him credit for the demolition of Jeff Lacy and his wins over Kessler and Hopkins, though I feel Bernard did beat him. I would have liked to see Calzaghe get in the ring with Carl Froch sometime before he called it a day and that will never happen, a younger fighter, big hitter, someone who would have been more of a challenge than a 39 year old past his best Jones Jr, however, give Roy credit, he put up a good show.
I personally don't see Calzaghe retiring just yet. Maybe 1 more fight at the Millenium Stadium but the question is who? I would like to see a Hopkins rematch, especially after what he did to Pavlik but Calzaghe is dismissing any rematches...wonder why!
