    Calzaghe in HIS prime

Calzaghe, our Welsh boy Joe, is 36, not 26, and there were three years between them, only three, last night.
TO say RJJ would have owned Joes ass 8 years ago is to ignore the fact that back then JOE was quicker too. He also punched a lot harder and, pre hand problems, was knocking everyone out with ease.
I dont know who would win if they were both their in their prime but to say "Oh RJJ would win easily" is a bit foolish. Calzaghe/Jones eight years ago would have been immense, but no walkover for either guy. Its the only argument you got though, and thats why you want Joe to take on that brainless tosspot Hopkins again - why would joe fight him again? Joe is a boxer, he dont wanna spent the evening holding and hiding!
Joe Calzaghe is better then you lot over the pond want to believe

apologies to Pelon for earlier version, yeah man, youre right!

Joe was never a KO artist and he didn't impress me that much back in the day.

I thought he was on top of his game for Lacy and Kessler more than prior fights.

It's one thing I give Joe credit: he ages well because he took care of himself.

Joe Calzaghe is better then you lot over the pond in the land of *****, Dubya, Dukes of Hazzard, the KKK, school murders and thick skulled Good 'ol boys will ever admit.
Not paying him respect is just so so American

"Anyone can be anything they want over here in the good ol USA, the land of dreams, but only if they are one of ours"

Your armed forces get their asses kicked everywhere they go, and you are the most arrogant people on the planet. Funny thing is that most of you dumb ****ers on here probably dont have jobs, and lie around all day smoking crack.

America, the most racist country on earth where everyone does everyone else in the ass.
Get over it, and go get another McDonalds you fat ****s!
I will stick to Wales, weve been here 600 years and we aint going anywhere.

What started out as a great post, sure turned to **** pretty quickly.

If you really want to make your initial point, which I agree with, edit the rest of the **** out. You want people to focus on what you're trying to get across.

Kessler-era Joe would beat Eubank-era Joe any day, just like Trinidad-era Hopkins kicks Jones-era Hopkins's ass. Some people just peak later and stay on top of their game, his decline of punching power doesn't compare at all with the entire body/psyche deterioration of Roy Jones.

          I agree.

In fact, I'm pretty sure his nickname before his hand problems wasn't "The Destroyer".

I'm also 100% convinced that he had been the distance a lot more than once when he fought for the WBO title.

Before the hand problems surfaced, he definitely didn't have an impressive KO ratio of about 80-90%

          [/sarcasm]
