We were foolish to think any version of this man still existed.

that's what all fans do.I've been that type of fan.thing is, this just shows how ****ing ****** it was for roy to move down from heavyweight.it was absolutely ****** considering all the weight he added on.seriously, getting ktfo by a heavyweight doesn't sound as bad as getting ko'd by a fellow light heavyweight.maybe it was the fear of getting ko'd that drove him back down.Comment

"Foolish" is the proper word, unless you want to say "downright ******", because it was OBVIOUS that he wasn't the same fighter. I've been saying since the Hanshaw fight that Roy didn't do anything anymore, just lay on the ropes motionless. Yet his nuthuggers (not FANS, cuz I'm a fan of his but I see the truth) kept referencing his OLDER abilities when they said how he would beat Calzaghe. Even Roy himself said that if he couldn't KO Tito early he would need to retire because that would mean that he had lost his skills, because he KO'd 175-pound guys before while Tito was a natural 147 guy.
Honest question to the Roy nuthuggers - WHY didn't you see what was so obvious? I said many times that in his last 3 victories it was clear his skills where nowhere near to how they were in his prime. Are you such HUGE Roy fans that you thought just cuz he won it meant he was still the man? Did you not notice that he only beat a bum, an unproven guy, and an inactive welterweight coming off a shutout? I said it before and I'll say it again, it was OBVIOUS from watching his last fights that Roy Jones had NO chance against Joe Calzaghe.Comment
