    Tsyzu Retiring??

got it from the main page:

The big news being passed around the Australian media is that Kostya Tszyu's trainer Johnny Lewis has tried to talk Tszyu into retiring after his Saturday night rematch with rival Sharmba Mitchell.

Lewis apparently admitted that he has approached Tszyu on numerous occasions prior to this fight in an effort to get Tszyu to retire after the Mitchell bout.....win, lose or draw. Lewis told Australian media that Tszyu came close to hanging up the gloves on several occasions within the last two months. Tszyu was extremely frustrated with the constant injuries he was suffering and was very close to calling it a career.

"In boxing there is not a lot of happy endings and you try to control that." said Lewis

"I'll call it quits [as a trainer] when Kostya's finished. With a win it would be a good one for both of us. I've enjoyed it and been very lucky to be blessed with some really good fighters. It's time to let the younger blokes have a go now."

"When he says he wants something I am not going to argue or doubt him," Lewis said. "He's a great fighter. He's as good as ever there was in that division. It's important to have a good performance and a good win and with that, who knows."

On a side note, Kostya Tszyu came into the weigh-in looking ripped and easily made the 140 pound limit, he actually weighed just below 140. Sharmba Mitchell was also ripped and made 140 pounds.

"It was a big ask, but he made a hard job an easy job just through being professional and his attitude and discipline. It's a great thing for him to step on those scales and see it hovering a touch under 140." said Lewis

me personally, i don't think he wants to retire just yet. Maybe a few more in him. But at the same time, he should definately keep his priorities in mind.

If he cant fight more often than he has been. And stay injury free. I think he needs to retire.
