Its a shame that everyone seems to take the view that RJJ would have wiped Joe out in his peak, forgetting that Joe is only three years younger. In the last three years, Joe has got better and better as the opposition has improved. If Joe had fought RJJ 5 years ago, is this forum saying that RJJ would have been far too quick? Are you saying that Joe WASNT faster 5 years ago either? It seems age is taken into consideration when talking about the opposition but NEVER when it comes to Joe.
Would Joe have lived with Hopkins in his prime, or RJJ at his best? Of course he would. Im not going to say he would have beaten them both, but we will never know will we. One thing no-one can deny is that for hand speed alone last night, Joe was worth the admission money? For slap slap, look at RJJs eye or check out his ribs today. Some of the body shots Joe continually cemented into RJJs ribs were sickening.
Calzaghe deserves his place in history as one of the very best of all time, and frankly, anyone still slagging him down just looks ******.
A little bit too much showboating from joe for me, but then RJJ was quick to give it the big one at the end of round 1.
All in all, Joe has gained the respoect of anyone worth getting respect from - everyone else is simply not of this world!
Well done to both fellas, and those who say RJJ just wanted the paycheque should ask what he was still doing in there at the end of round 12, almost blind with blood.
RJJ - class act Joe C - even better
Hopkins - you will never get over running away from joe, and you will be forever remembered as the man who was SCARED to fight Calzaghe, at least RJJ was a man in the ring on the night.
