The best post I have EVER read on here - a must read for RJJ fans.

And remarkably enough, from TCN Souljah/d0gg85

Props to him on writing something which I have gone back to read about 5 times, and made me a little emotional each time, I must admit

When you acknowledge that any expectation for Jones Jr. to beat this guy was too high. You will be able to acknowledge how well he did yesterday night.

Unless we one of those who knew it was a meaningless fight and decided not to watch, we all a lil guilty for buying into the hype. Because even just watching is buying into it. It's a vicious cycle because we set ourselves up to be let down time and agin.

And the sense of letdown will be hardest for Roy than anyone. Because he was enjoying being back for real. And then it's over. The crowd empties out the venue. Everything is cleaned out including the fighters. The TV cameras switch off. The venue lights go out and the event is all over.
    Just like that.

So it seems like it was all for nothing.

But in the end. Jones Jr. supports have every reason to be proud of Roy. He went the distance agin a workrate he had no chance of keeping up with and showed a lot of heart to do it.

I mean, I'm sure writers have said something similar before, but viewing that segment within that whole post..

I think the hardest thing for me to accept is that I really believed he was up for this one. He seemed to have a bit of an aura about him that i've not seen in him in years. Last night hasn't changed the way I think of him at all. He's still the greatest fighter of the past 15 years and one of the best ever in my eyes.

I think he was up for it. I don't buy the idea that it was all about the paycheck, I think he believed he could do it.

But ultimately, both he, and we, were lying to ourselves, really.

And this is why he's an ATG

I felt sad for RJJ when he was cut yesterday, but he still had the heart to go the full distance...

I always thought Calzaghe would win on points but I prayed Jones had one last big fight left in him, and after the first round I believed it aswell. When the bell rang at the end of round 1 I loved it when Roy stood in the centre of the ring just looking at Joe. it got me so hyped up, but then made what came after it feel so much worse.

I've just bought a signed RJJ glove and i'm currently looking for a picture to have put onto a canvas but can't decide what.

              Any recommendations?

I went and gave the the guy some green K for that. With all the rubbish this place produces, it is a really nice thing to see a post that is not only real, but heartfelt.

Not sure, man. If you post a few of the ones you're debating over, I'll give you my opinion.

I'm logging out for now, I can't take anymore of this sadness

You should read more of his posts then, I don't think you would have the same opinion.
