Remember when the shot Bernard Hopkins he beat, tore Kelly Pavlick to bits? The shot Roy Jones he just beat would've given a good fight to plenty of the solid fighters in the division. It proved that at this moment in time Joe Calzaghe is the best in his division and those around him. Thats all Calzaghe has ever claimed. He rarely goes on about legacy, in fact he is deliberately not going out to try and defeat the records of Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano because he respects them as legends and doesnt want to be considered greater, even if just on paper records.

You'll never catch me sayin Joe coulda taken a prime Roy, but he won clearly last nite and even as a huge RJ fan I refuse to make any excuses for Roy losin yesterday. Circa November '08, Joe had more than Roy had. Period.

Yeah, definetly. The man has a cast iron chin and great powers of recovery. But the outcome was always going to be the same.

Not much. I am actually a big Calzaghe fan and think he could give Hopkins and Jones in their primes a good fight, but this Roy Jones was nothing like the prime Roy Jones. It's like fighting a completely different fighter.

Just look at how Jones's shell compares to Winky's, Jones's arms flail and sway every time they get hit, he can't even hold them still. It's a joke of a defense, he just isn't meant to fight that like. Jones can't put two punches together when he could have thrown 7 left hooks in 2 seconds in his prime. He moves like an ordinary fighter now. This fight didn't prove anything.

He proved people wrong by beating Roy Jones Jr. Proved he did what was expected of him too do. Proved he is the man at light heavyweight. Proved he could take Roys power and laugh at him. Proved anyone that fights him isn't going to have an easy outing. Proved that Joe don't take anyone lightly so dont' expect him to under train. Proved that you knock him down he going to get up. Stop the hate sin.

He proved that he beat an old Roy Jones who came out from retirement recently.. who fought n beat an even weaker older Trinidad. He proved nothin until he fights Chad Dawson. Go ahead and hate on me.. my opinion is my opinion. Joe is a Great UK fighter though.
