To all the armchair groupies who swore that Roy would win:

    You know **** about boxing.

There was a reason why some of us Hopkins supports picked B-Hop to beat Calslappy.

Bernard had enough left physically and mentally.

Hop did beat Calslappy imo and could do it again even more clearly if he gets the chance.
But that is a whole other thread. This isn't inviting you to start that debate agin.

The point is. There was also a reason why a few of us who actually have a understanding of the sport knew Roy couldn't win.

I'm talking about individuals like DiegoFuego. Bsrizpac. And also myself.
Who were levelheaded enough to comprehend that the qualities which made Roy the fighter he was have degenerated badly from a combination of
    • the neurological damage inflicted by cutting a ton of muscle weight too quick and getting waxed by Tarver and Glencoffe

    • plain old ordinary age

Most notable his reflexes and his mobility around the ring.

You cannot overstate how key those qualities were to making Roy the Superman he was back when.

Those abilities will still flicker in Roy from time to time during a fight. But flicker is all they do. He can't put it together like he did before. You seeing a shadow of his greatness.

That is sad. And yall deluded ones might not have wanted to accept it. But it is the reality.

The dumb thing is. Most of you clowns didn't even attempt to qualify it by acknowledging you were picking Roy with your emotions.
Some of you actually tried to rationalize your wishful thinking with poor attempts at boxing logic and swore that a Roy this far away from his prime would be able to crush a fighter who was
    • not Elite level, but A level

    • very close to his physical prime

    • in his mental prime

I won't name names but yall know who you are. And you embarrassed citizens of the USA and the real Roy fans on this forum with that bull****.

Because of you. A crew of bitchy, dizzyheaded, hypocritical Brits now have license to talk **** at Americans and legitimate Roy Jones Jr. supports like we all a crew of irrational fangirls.

I am a big Roy support. I wanted to see him win as much as any yall. But I knew it wouldn't happen.

And don't let the KD in the 1st round confuse any you simple-minded dumbasses.

Roy hit him with a forearm. If Calslappy had not of answered the count, it would have been a freak KO.

Like I said before the fight. Winning agin this Roy proved nothing for Calslappy.

This is Boxing. It wouldn't be exactly interesting or fun if not a single person on the planet picked Roy to win?

So you have absolutely no part no play in any discussion which might ensue on this thread.

I gave Roy a chance, but didn't get my hopes up too high after watching his last few fights.

He scared the crap out of a lot of people when he dropped Joe in the first, though.

Roy looked too relaxed and uncertain of himself before the fight , IMHO.
