Mayweather should get more credit beating Oscar at 154

Well if Calzaghe get credit for beating a guy who had no title at all and no had a solid win for a while, Mayweather should get credit for betaing Oscar at 154 when he started at 130. Beating Oscar the number one ranked Jr MW at the title for a belt.

Mayweather is an ATG if I apply the calzaghe rule

i'm gonna follow you around today. i'm actually agreeing with you today.

great win for floyd at 154. even though oscar is past prime he was a 154 titlist and big name in boxing.

to get a 154 belt from a future HOF for a guy who is a natural 135-140......great win.

Oscar certainly wasn't as shot as Roy Jones was.

Thats true!! Everybody knew Roy was shot and had nothing to offer, they were saying its a lose-lose situation for Calzaghe, now, all of a sudden, Joe is getting shot loads of praise for beating a guy who obviously should have retired 3 years ago.

Thats why I just cant bring myself to be a Calzaghe fan. I'll be honest, the Lacy & Kessler fights were great wins, but beating these 2 old men does NOTHING for his legacy and just makes me resent him for hand picking fights against old men who he couldn't have beaten in their prime.

true, mayweather had a good win over dlh. It's nowhere near his best though but Mayweather has many many excellent wins and one of the best to have laced em up. Shame he retired with cotto, marg, williams, pacman all potential matchups.

oscar had all the advantages over floyd and still lost. floyd cruised with oscar and still won. oscar came into the fight, being already the bigger man, and was in the 160's the night of the fight, while floyd went back down to 148, chose the gloves, the ring size, actually put up and decent fight, like he was really trying to win against a guy who's skillset overmatched him and would have always overmatched him prime for prime, thus the reason floyd called oscar and shane out for so many years, and floyd got booed throughout the fight and still one, because he was the most skilled fighter overall of his era, and still is. oscar had a belt, oscar had a lot left, and fought like it. it's not floyd's fault that oscar waited until floyd slowed down a bit to want to fight him, and still lost, because just like he knew when floyd was at 140, floyd's skillset was too much for him to handle. joe beat roy who i thought would win, so i give joe a lot of credit. roy trained like he could go 15 rounds, he even said it. if foreman can beat younger fighters in his 40s, then it's no different for roy. no excuse for him either. joe calzaghe, just like money may, was too good for their opponents. now, the only difference, i don't see joe beating roy in his prime, i just don't see that. roy was much more active and moved a lot more and threw much more punches than he did last night. floyd, i see still domonating oscar in his prime, floyd's skillset is truly unmatched by anybody in boxing for the last 15 years and more.

The same Oscar who barely beat up a bum in his last fight and is now fighting a Lightweight?

The same Oscar who was coming off a years lay off from a knockout loss?

                  Ok..

                    wtf?

oscar won every round against forbes.

oscar was the 154 champ. he had a belt and was considered #1 at 154 at the time.
