And a win for Joe over Winky means even less than Bernard's win over Winky last year. Considering this is his longest inactivity period of his entire career, and even last year he was blown up at 170lbs.
That's like Roy picking apart Tito 7 years after Hopkins did it to him, only not as long after.Comment

Yeah Winky has been way to inactive, but i thought he did a fairly good job against Bhop i thought that fight was close. And a win for Joe over Winky means even less than Bernard's win over Winky last year. Some people saw it close, but I was a complete Hopkins shutout. 117-111, Winky played right into his game all night long by abandoning everything that would've worked for him.
It was an ugly, boring fight for sure. But against a guy like Winky, that's what you need to do to win, otherwise you're going to be hitting his gloves all night.Comment

I don't think Wright would have ever beaten Calzaghe. He's too small, too inactive and doesn't have enough pop. Winky's style works quite well against straight-ahead boxers because he doesn't absorb any punishment, he deflects a lot of it but against Calz he would have to contend with angles, kidney punches and non-stop flurries. Counter punchers are always going to have trouble with Calzaghe purely because of the volume.
Besides which considering the criticism Calzaghe got after fighting Hopkins and Bika why would he need another ugly-ass boring fight?Comment
