    It might be stating the obvious but had he taken his first chance he wouldn't need a second one (and none of the fantasy 'wrong result' crap, please).

    That said, I agree that a final-fight Hopkins rematch (in Cardiff) is the only fight that would make any sense for Calzaghe. He's the only other fighter in the division who is proven to be in Calzaghe's league, the last fight was close and Hopkins is a true legend. At present, Dawson is just another contender.. just like Pavlik was before BHop showed him how to box.

      I can agree with you that Hopkins didn't take full advantage of his first opportunity against Calzaghe, and that's something he has to live with.

      That said I do think he split that fight 6 rounds to Joe's 6 rounds, which would've earned him the 114-113 decision that Byrd scored.

      But I won't argue over the previous bout, because it's done and over with.

      And I agree about Dawson, I think Joe would have a much easier time with him than he would rematching Hopkins without question.
