That's right Barrera stopped Ventura (19 losses) in 4 rounds TKO.

Only troubling thing is that both were 137.5 lbs almost 10 lbs heavier than Barrera's previous heaviest weight. There's no way Barrera wants a piece of 140 cus he'll get destroyed there.

So what do ya'll think does he have anything left and can he make noise at 135 or 140?

I haven't been online much so I was unaware of the Barrera win.

I'm a huge Barrera fan and am glad to hear he got the victory. Though the weight is a bit concerning, as I doubt he can hang at 140lbs.

I really do hope he fulfills his dream to be the first Mexican to capture 4 world titles though, he's one of the guys who I have the utmost respect for in this game.

To the thread starter : How did Barrera look in the ring against Ventura? I know Ventura was a tin can and certainly a simple tune up but did you see the fight and if so, how good did Marco look?

Nope sadly I didn't see the fight, I hope he looked good though but damn how the hell does he go from 130 to 137.50 you can tell he's not taking it serious no more or something. Maybe he can beat Malignaggi or Witter or something at 140 or Vivian Harris ..hell maybe Hatton.

Barrera did look good but it was against a guy that has 20 losses

Barrera was pretty soft around the middle but this was just a stay busy fight, to shake off the rust and all that so it's hard to say how much he has left, Sammy Ventura isn't exactly a good test.
