Boxing is CRAZY like that...We have all been led to believe that Joe Louis was closing in on 100 when he got stopped by the Rock ...but he was only 37! I always have had the image of the barely able to throw a punch at the time Ali at age 38 losing to Holmes... AGE 38!...Sugar Ray Leonard in his mid-30's was a shell of his former self...Hearns, etc...then you had Duran still beating contenders at 40...now B-Hops, Calz, etc.....the human bodies are different in every case, the mentality, the genetics, the drive etc etc...you cant really compare anyoneGreat story John. Those are some great pictures. I have never seen Bert Sugar without a cigar and a drink. I thought the card in whole was a joke. Why wasn't the Augustus fight a 10 round bout, the best one out of all the undercard bouts. Its funny how certain fighters hit their prime at different times. Calzaghe and Hopkins respectively didn't hit they're prime until into the 30's and 40's. And you can't say once you get older you lose your speed and output like Roy because Calzaghe hasn't and Glen Johnson gets better in every fight. I just find it interesting at what age and at what point of a career that a fighter is at his best.Comment

Yeah thats whats makes boxing so great. You can never count someone out. Age can be looked at but never is a definitive factor. Thats why I hate when people say that person is to old to fight, he has no chance. The man who says that doesn't understand the sport or its history. This is why my favorite fighters are Hopkins,Toney, and Glen Johnson, these are men that don't let critics decide that they are too old and can't do it anymore. They defy the odds.Comment

I guess you hate Calzaghe more than Jones... How much are you gonna cry after Wladimir mops the floor with Rahman?Comment
