Everything About Jones' Training Camp was Just Going Through the Motions

Sparring 14 year old white kids. Power walking instead of actually running, that's right he didn't even jog he was literally power walking, and looked stiff as **** doing it. Even his speed bag work looked weak and slow and it was telling how in the media day after his speed bad work you know how most fighters get the bag going real fast and end the session by power punching it, well Jones tried and his giant power punch embarrassingly missed the speed bag to which he howled and then threw a second one as the press laughed at him. Sad really and it foreboded the events of tonight.

Everything about his camp seemed like he was just going through the motions, sorry Jones dancing in the ring with partner and doing synchronized dance/shadowboxing isn't going to prepare you for an ATG like Calzaghe.

that's a common training method, Jermain Taylor trained by hitting giant tires with a sledgehammer too for the Pavlik fight so what's your point

I don't see how hitting a tire with a sledgehammer would help a boxer, if anything it might injure your waist and/or shoulder muscles.

well you're pretty dumb then, it trains explosiveness and using all muscles in conjunction. Same as rocky chopping wood

He also trained against Byron Mitchell who hasn't been that great of a fighter as of recently and fights nothing like Hopkins.

I think he was prepared physically, just not mentally. It seemed like he had no plan at all for Calzaghe. He stood at the ropes and let Calazghe slap him from the second round on, while only sparingly throwing out a punch of his own.
