GREAT CROWD at MSG but... horrible fights

Was at the fights tonight, it was pretty awsome.

The amount of celebs there were rediculous. Holyfield, Michael Douglas, a few guys from Entrourage, Jorge Posada, Bernard Hopkins, Mikkel Kessler, Ricky Gervais, the list went on for like 2 minutes it was insane.

Hopkins got a ton of boos obviously, HOlyfield got a ton of cheers and actually after the fight im walking the street and i see this guy in a brown jacket walk past me, and then like 300 people just sprinting behind them and it was Evander Holyfield. I got a pic with him before he got into a black SUV.

Kessler got a lot of cheers as well.

Only bad part of the night was the horrific card they put together. No KO's, boring boring boring boring fights. The main event was decent i guess, but Joe won so... that kinda ******.

And one last thing, British people have a serious alcohol problem. Seriously, every brit around me was like passout drunk.

And there were WAAAAAAAAAAY more then 2,000 brits there. More like 8,000 at the least. Some people were wearing full body costumes, it was pretty wild.

Attendance i would say was around 14,000 best guess. They could have EASILY sold the place out if they priced the tickets reasonably

Yeah the undercard was absolute dog ****, I bet you enjoyed Roy dropping Calzaghe. I think overrall the main event was decent, Hopkins vs Joe makes this fight look like Corrales vs Castillo.

I was glad to see Hopkins get booed. Wonder what he thought aabout the fight. You know he wanted Jones to win. Calzaghe was just beating away a big payday for Bernard. haha

so they were giving away $500 seats? I knew nobody cared about this fight, but damn that's sad. whatever it takes to make it look full on TV I guess

anybody who knows anything about this sport knew going in Roy was shot and wouldn't put up a fight because he never does

nah they didnt give away any free seats, but i am a part of business that can get me free seats. I just have to put in the good word with the boss and he can get them for me a few times a year.

I usually do NFL games cause they are hard to come by, but occasionally ill get a fight.

I usually anti-up myself for fights tho.

oh and btw, the $500 seats were the 2nd cheapest seats available. tickets were GROSSLY overpiced, and they still sold about 14,000 somehow. could have easily sold the place out if they lowered the prices

The atmosphere didn't look that good until the main event. The main event was great for 3-5 rounds, after that it was pretty much hoping Roy could land something meaningful that would shake Calzaghe up. The undercard was terrible, I was hoping Augustus did his drunken master routine and Judah did not look as impressive as he was supposed to against his opponent, he doesnt belong at the top level anymore.

The undercard was AWFULL...They should be ashamed that was even on the broadcast. Plain and simple if you can't give me a good undercard just cut that S*** and just give me the main event for 29.99. I'm getting really sick of watching a protected prospect vs a terrible journeyman and a never was vs a never will.
