Seriously Why Didn't Joe Do This Long Ago?

He would be considered perhaps in top 20 all time had he come over here long ago instead of waiting as long as he did. Maybe he didnt think he could beat the likes of Hop and Roy in their prime, if so there would have been no reason to not fight them. Good fighter he is, just wish he would have come alot sooner than now.

It's the European system of promoter keeps fighter, gets him a belt, and then casual fans think fighter is the main champion. Warren wouldn't let Calzaghe go. Doubt Joe had the aptitude to get out of tht arrangement. It took him so long. Joe was lucky Lacy came hunting for him. It started the ball rolling.

The world found the diamond in the rough...one may say...

I believe him when he says it was Frank Warren who kept him over there.

Why didn't Roy or Bernard go over there and fight Joe, at any time?

I'm not really feeling this double standard of it being necessary for Joe to come to america, while Roy doesn't have to fight anywhere else.
