Roy Jones doesn't throw enough to beat Calzaghe

Calzaghe is a very active fighter, at this point in his career where he STRICKLY pot shots guys, Roy Jones doesn't throw enough punches to beat a guy like Calzaghe who throws alot every round, Calzaghe EASILY by UD unless Jones gets some energy from somewhere

I made the same argument about Pavlik and how Hopkins doesn't do enough. Boy was I wrong.

Yeah that's why you play keep away and pot shot, in order to stop them from fighting you on the inside.
Even on the inside Roy should be the bigger stronger man and able to push off .

BUT Hopkins outworked Pavlik, Roy isn't going to outwork Joe. I wouldn't be surprised if Roy won but i'm picking Calzaghe by fairly easy UD, it depends whether Roy can turn back the clock

Floyd didnt throw as many punches as Oscar and look what happen. Roy doesnt have to match Calzaghe's punch output. Just land the more cleaner punches. Block and counter

joe may out work roy, but anything landed with authority will be by roy just like in the bhop/calzaghe fight. joe lands a million shots but none of them look effective, he did ware out bhop but not once did he look hurt. i like boxers that have a high workrate like andrade, margarito but they throw volume of punches that are effective. . . even juan diaz who isnt a big hitter but he throws alot, sits down on his punches but just doesnt have the a lot power but still get the job done.

i hope tonight if joe wins he does it with effective punches that he throws with power (he busted up lacy pretty good so he must have some power somewhere in there) and not his typical pity pat flurries . . . but i guess i'm hoping for too much.

You must put 2 and 2 together. If Popkins was worn out, that means that at one point during the fight, he was hurt. Many fighters are able to hide it but you must remember that Popkins ate the most shots of his entire career during that fight.

Punches that constantly land take a toll on you. How come Popkins wasn't worn out against Pavlik?! He was never hurt that's why.

Roy should be more used to the weight though so he may still be stronger in ring.
