do you know what a puncher's chance means?

a puncher's chance means you can't win the fight by decision but if you catch your opponent with something big you have a chance of a ko.

man , your previous statement didn't make sense.

you said all he has is a puncher's chance.

for pac to win this fight is by decision or by tko by accumulation of punches and/or oscar tiring. neither is a puncher's chance type win.

you also said he couldn't get inside on juanma and marco. manny wasn't trying to get inside with juanma or marco.

you try to get inside when someone has superior reach/height. marco and juanma had neither.

you try to get inside when someone has faster hands and beats you on the outside , hence you work their body and try to smother their punches. why would manny need to get inside against marco and juanma when his best punch is a straight left? he needs some space to be effective with the left.

Of course I know what a puncher's chance means. Pac isn't looking to land a KO punch to the chin; he definitely would want to mark dela Hoya's pretty face, but I believe Roach' training Pac to concentrate on body shots as dela Hoya's only KO loss was because of a body shot.

Dela Hoya's moving down in weight, relative inactivity, age and seemingly low tolerance for mid section shots in the past, all point to a possibility that if ever Pacman wants to score with one debilitating shot that could end the fight, that would be a well-placed and well-timed liver shot. I think that counts as a puncher's chance don't you think? You're the expert not me. But I also think dela Hoya would be well aware of this and would be wearing his trunks a bit high.

Pac in JMM 2 and Barrera 2, could have weakened both aging fighters with more body shots (like what Pac did in Barrera 1) We could say that he consciously chose to fight on the outside and capitalize on his speed, but we could also say that he simply couldn't get inside and mount a sustained body attack without being tagged and gave up on the idea. If he can't get inside JMM and Barrera (in Pac-Mab 2), I doubt he'd be able to do that against dela Hoya.

But like I said, don't mind me... mine's not an expert opinion.

        OMFG

Go to hbo.com/boxing right now. On the front page they have Will Steven's prediction. Forget what else you've heard!

"It's going to be a tough first few rounds with both fighters potentially on their backs. I expect Calzaghe to open up though and he'll come at Jones hard. If Joe can unleash his hook, I'm hoping that he'll be able to knock Jones out. He'll be fine."
