Unfortunately I think Roy is going to be one of those guys that just can't let it go. I would say he will most probably fight on win or lose tbh.

Well if he wins, it seems he has a re match clause to, err, try to win again.

If he loses I think he may settle a deal finally with Hops. It'd be silly not to.

Me personally, as a fan of Roy's i want him to retire after this fight. He has nothing to prove, win or lose. I'll miss him, but i got memories! lots of em! but the time is right for Roy to walk away. Go back to Pensacola and get some rest.

If he wins, 100% chance he'll fight again. If he loses, it will depend on how badly. I suspect that Roy will want to go out with a win, so he'll find the right opponent to get that done.

more than likely he will fight on. other than hopkins, who else can he fight? dawson? no. tarver? hopefully not. should he jump up to cruiser and win a title there? perhaps, all this depends on how strong he perfoms against calzaghe.

Yeah, I think it's his right to keep going on for as long as he wants. It's his right even if he loses.

Remember new young champions are made getting the scalps of former champions.

Unless someone is clearly unfit mentally or doesn't pass the physical tests, they should fight as long as they like. AND many do.

It's their life and their livelihood.

                  he should retire.

he should've retired a long time ago.

roy like ali depended on speed for their defense. at the later stages of their career they had to learn proper defense.

but when ali slowed down he had his chin and mastery of the clinch to depend on.

roy has a good chin but nothing on ali's level.
