  • Valero Will Do Everything To Make De La Hoya Better

Feared punching lightweight Edwin Valero (24-0, 24KOs) has pledged to do everything in his power to prepare Oscar De La Hoya for the fight with Manny Pacquiao on December 6 in Las Vegas. Valero is one of De La Hoya's sparring partners in Big Bear, California. He says the experience with a seasoned pro like De La Hoya will show him a lot. [details]

Edwin Valero is one of the most overrated and one dimensional fighters I have ever seen. I watched him spar and was highly impressed but when watching him fight some Korean fighter or Japanese fighter I clearly saw how incredibly overrated this guy is. I don't dislike him as a person but his boxing skills have much to be desired. Obviously his record is inflated by knocking out tomato cans and cab drivers. He won't help De La Hoya in anyway for Manny Pacquiao.

For some reason he has great skills in sparring. When he fights, all he's thinking is ko.

He helped out Erik Morales for his 1st fight with Pacquiao and he was getting the better of Morales most of the times. You should know by know that his power is real and power can change a fight in a second.

There is only one thing that team ODLH will gain to Valero, for being a southpaw fighter that's all and nothing more.

Oh, his power looks legit. But his chin is always in the air, he loops many of his puches, he leans in and his footwork has a lot to be desired. It nothing against him as a person, but I'll bet against him if and when he fights Pac, JMM, Diaz or Campbell.

Pacquiaos and de la hoyas respective sparring partners should square off - Amir khan vs Edwin Valero! That would be interesting for about a minute!

Valero still needs some A class competition to even be considered as a worthy opponent or a worthy sparring partner. Who has Valero fought, bums, bums, and more bums, so what the #$%K is he gonna help DLH with.

DLH is a joke for sparing with Featherweights. Im starting to think DLH thinks he is going to loose. Valero is NO comparison to Pacquiao. Southpaw maybe, speed, stamina, heart, intensity, combinations, footwork, Valero is no comparison.

Everyone use to say that Pac was just one demensional also when he started off. Everything they say about Valero is the exact same stuff they use to say about Pac

Not really…its easy to look one-dimensional when you’re taking on HOF boxers…its another thing to look one-dimensional against stiffs….the one legit bout against Mosquera, he was close to being put to sleep
