    John Ruiz appreciation thread

John Ruiz, the first hispanic Heavyweight champion of all time.
    2 Time World Champion
Wins over 3 World Champions, including
    Tony Tucker
    Evander Holyfield
    Hasim Rahman
got a gift against Golota, but were going to ignore that

and was robbed twice against Valuev, he hurt and dropped Valuev in their last fight.

in other words, he should be a Heavyweight champ right now, and should be a 3 time world champion.

trained by the best trainer of all time, Norman Stone.

I thought Valuev deserved to a close decision win in both fights with Ruiz, although he really did receive a gift against Larry Donald.

Ruiz received a gift against Golota, who deserved to win world title against Byrd as well.

I like your other favorite fighter Tony Thompson, but I've never liked John Ruiz. I enjoyed seeing him get KOed by TUA.

premature stoppage, and Ruiz was easily winning before Tua got a lucky shot in. plus Ruiz was past his prime and green.

boring fighter, not a great fighter, NO WHERE ****ING NEAR an atg, the suggestion of that is pretty ridiculous.

on these boards it seems that him getting beat by roy jones helped his legacy rather than hurt it.

i dont personally dislike ruiz but, he just doesnt represent much i like in a boxer.

yea, Golota was robbed against both of them.
Golota is really an oddball. so many impressive wins and performances, and then he totally falls apart and gets KOed early when he faces certain fighters. just strange. I guess you could almost compare him to Ken Norton in that regard...but I think those two had different problems. whatever.
I enjoy his fights though. very talented guy.

Ruiz is hilarious. but Norman Stone is even better.

name another fighter of his era who beat evander holyfield , hasim rahman , kirk johnson , andrew golota , fres oquendo and jameel mccline.

better resume than anyone still around.
