link didn't work for me, who's he suppose to face? i'm kinda off the gamboa band wagon, he has to improve or else he's gonna loose his 0, hes too easily hit and his chin seems a little suspect.

couldnt get the link to work, its on btalk main page though...

Gomez’ Cuban compatriot Yuriorkis Gamboa will also have the chance to win his first world title after only twelve pro-fights. “El Ciclon de Guantamo” will face Elio Rojas from Domenican Republic for the interim world featherweight championship because titleholder Oscar Larios got injured in his most recent win over Takahiro Aoh on October 16th.

This kid has World Class Ability but has a flawed fighting style. He needs to get another trainer that can work on his defense, like Mayweather Sr. Gamboa is also an athletic phenom like Floyd Jr. as well as having a great amateur career...so there is enormous talent to work with...something Sr. would like.

I also don't like fighters being rushed in. Gamboa is still young and 12 months with Sr. at his side would be great. No rushing fighting for a title when you have that many flaws in your defense and have been knocked down a few times.

And forget the language barrier, neither speaks English.

Actually, maybe Sr. would not be the best choice. I can see Sr. slowing Gamboa down and taking less risks.

Gamboa would be cool if he could take a bit from Meldrick Taylor but tighten up that defense.

          Tyson style might be cool.

only an interim title but still he has the tools to beat larios if he can keep his hands up
larios is probably the strongest hitter he is faced his entire career, hes better off fighting cruz carbajal imo

Vitali Klitschko has to defend his title against Juan Carlos Gomez, Gomez won against one of the Klitschkos in the amateurs.
Gamboa is fighting Elio Rojas for the interims title.
Hide has to fight for an eliminator, if he wins he fights the winner of Fragomeni and Wlodarczyk

Its easy to look flawed against the opposition he has faced so early on.

                  How's it easy?

He has an incredible amateur record and won Gold.

He has been seriously hurt already. He defense is crap and hasn't gotten better.

If you are a pro and you are getting knocked down, you pull back your competition level and stay in the gym.

He hasn't even faced elite competition yet...that's worrisome.

                  He's more open than Britney's *****.

This fight will definitely tell us wether Gamboa is a superstar, or a fraud.
