Paul Williams hasn't fought many top dogs..but still holds a W over the #1 WW...I think that and the fact that he avenged his only L against another top 10 WW in Quintana he sure as hell can be tippin the 10th spot!

I can see if he dominated Margaroto or KOd him but he didnt it was a close fight not the kind of win to make anyone take notice. It wasnt until Marg proved himself and earned his shot at Cotto then people said oh heck Williams is the best! It doesnt work like that look at Pavlik/Taylor/Hopkins.

Yeah...so Margarito destroying a top ranked fighter showed how good he was. Paul Williams beat Margarito desecively.

Would you not say that Margarito doesn't deserved to be ranked? Cotto has good wins over people, but he lost to Margarito. When Cotto, one of the best fighters in the sport, lost to Margarito, margarito becomes one of the best fighters in the sport. Williams had just beaten Margarito like a year earlier, so is Williams not one of the best fighters in the sport.

Plus he avenged his only defeat by a crushing 1st round knockout. I don't like Williams much and his big weakness is movers (as demonstrated by Quintana), but I think the decision can be justified.

I would have put Darchinyan in, but whatever.

I can see Williams at #10, he's looked great in his last two fights. But no way should he be there instead of Darchinyan, who was awesome on Saturday, dominating the Ring p4p #7 fighter.

Perhaps drop Pavlik off (let's be honest, he didn't resemble a p4p fighter in his last fight) put Williams at #10 and Darchinyan at #9.

Cotto should remain because he has a lot of wins over decent opposition (Mosley, Quintana, Torres, Judah).

Yeah no one clearly took notice of Paul Williams. Is that why he's one of the big hype machines right now? I think he's the best fighter at 147, but calling him the best through 168 is ****ing crazy.

Here's another question, how did Margarito earn his shot against Cotto? Beating Golden Johnson? Check. Beating a man who he had already crushed 3 years earlier? Check.

Williams-Margarito was close, but that doesn't change the fact that Williams still won. I'm not saying that Williams would beat Cotto, but when ranking them, you have to rank Williams over Cotto. It's weird to have him over Cotto in the welterweight rankings, but not a p4p ranking.

Vic got a very great win over Cristian Mijares and belongs on that list. Maybe not replacing Cotto, but he needs to be on there. Maybe over Calderon or Marquez, but even then I think you have a better chance of aruging that Cotto could be taken off then those two.

Because the P4P is about overall opposition IMO..It only took Cotto 1 time to get rid of Quintana..as well as many top WW's..as opposed to Williams took a L and a 2nd fight and only has Margarito..

But with Margarito's W over Cotto it knocks Cotto lower than Margs P4P..but still over Williams since it's about quality of opposition..

Now the WW rankings is more on triangle theory as to where Cotto was defeated by Margarito and Margarito was defeated by Williams but since than was defeated by Quintana therefore you have 1)Margarito 2)Williams 3)Cotto..
