Don't get me wrong I have always been a RJJ fan and before he went after his dream and became the Heavyweight champ it has been downhill from there. Regardless of the Calzaghe result he should give us one more Hopkins fight. Calzaghe porbably woud not want to fight Dawson and Johnson should fight the Lacy/Taylor victor.
My meaning is that these fight would have been one sided victories for Jones, pre-moving up to heavyweight. They are/were competative afterwards. Jones was definitely in the Johnson fight before the KO. He was landing every time he let the hands go but was too cautious trying not to get hit in an exchange. That backfired, as we know. I was there in Memphis, by the way.

Tito had fought most of his career as a WW, but has been at over 160lbs for 8 years. He was prepared well and ready to fight at the 170lb weight no matter who denies it. also, to Trinidad's credit, he still fought well and did'nt get that tired in the end. Jones was just too strong and too fast/skilled. He was never vulnerable in his last 3 fights unless you tried to see that he was. Which I think you may have been doing.

calz will retire if he beats rjj. I have no doubt about that. dawson is too much of a threat and calz is only interested in fighting winnable fights.

Abraham, Dawson, Pavlik, Sturm are all viable candidates for Calzaghe's crown. But untill they fight each other and emerge as worthy of a megafight there should be no complaining that Joe is Ducking anyone. I thought Joe was fighting old and slow Senior Citizens untill Jones and Hopkins beat up Overweight Trinidad and Pavlik. Abraham vs Pavlik and Dawson vs Sturm and then a great fight between the winners. Who ever prevails would have the right to call out Calzaghe and if Calzaghe retires would be the ring champion.
