You can thank Calzaghe's latest bull**** for the following...
I have a few things to say concerning the so called U.S.A.-U.K. "rivalry" in Boxing....
The ONLY reason it even exists is due to the actions of the U.K. fans...predominantly the British ones....why?....because the U.K./British Boxing scene basically doesn't occur to the American Boxing scene as rivals or competition...and as The History of Boxing tells us...for the most part, they are NOT in our league and SHOULDN'T occur to us as such. In other words....we have every right to NOT be concerned with them...and believe me...they wouldn't be concerned with us if the roles were reversed.
This genuine and warranted lack of acknowledgement of them as a threat makes their blood BOIL...which is totally understandable. To be honest...I have sympathy for them....as being in that position must really, REALLY suck....knowing they can't compare to us and having to run around screaming for accolades and attention....and when they do that enough...acting a fool and touting their fighters to the extreme ENOUGH...we, the American Boxing fans and our prime fighters, fight their sparks with fire and remind them of exactly where they and their best fighters truly stand....
That being said...I totally understand and advocate them competing in general...being competitive is an essential quality to have when wanting to gain recognition and/or success...but I'm saying that THEY are the ones who start all this nonsense and bring out our bad sides with their overly nationalistic and obnoxious points of view....that....along with their blind bias, envy, and overall insecurity towards America is pretty much what fuels this feud and makes us act accordingly....but like I said....this really isn't a "feud"...it's more like a complete and utter mismatch.
It's almost like a barracuda going after a Great White Shark...which you would rarely, and probably never, see...because the barracuda knows the Great White can easily swing around and rip it to shreds at any given moment....you see...the barracuda, unlike the insane fans I'm referring to, KNOWS its role and is fine with it...it gets its food and respect here and there...but it wouldn't DARE attack something it innately recognizes as considerably bigger and better....
So I pose the question..."Why?"...why waste your time and energy acting this way? Why do you peck at The Sleeping Giant's feet? Do you not know that America historically AND presently owns you?...and if you DO know this....why are you fighting the feeling?...it would be much easier for you and better for your reputation if you just accepted it...because no matter what you and your fighters EVER say or do....England, or ANY other country for that matter, will NEVER replace The United States as THE Mecca AND Standard of Boxing Greatness.
Now...I know what I've just typed is going to upset some of you...but I am merely speaking the truth from the heart...and believe it or not...I am only trying to help you and the Boxing community become a better place....
I often think of how wonderful it would be if more U.S. and British fans could coexist without all the bull**** and rationally assess Boxing and the fighters together....
Sincerely,
SKULLSPLITTER - The CEO
