No way Joe will fight him. Joe wants 2 run away on top Mayweather style. I hope Roy KO's that chump. Taylor vs Jones would be awesome.

Would be nice to see some pics/video from their respective training camps... would be good marketing for the fight, which is just 10 days away.

With it being so easy for Taylor to make weight, I hope they're adding a little muscle to his frame, not just cutting less fat (not that he's got much to begin with).

I don't think he's thinking too clearly if he's thinking of going back to 160. He struggled before and Pavlik beat him twice, he's only improving too. Bad style match up, and AA may well be too. He turned down Froch and a belt at SMW, he'd be in the running for one at SMW after this tune up, and he's on about MW again. He needs to start hurrying up, he could easily be without a belt of top win another year down the line, what goods that?

Sure Taylor has plenty of options right now, but he needs to win vs Lacy (which if he does wont give him any credit), then he needs to beat an elite fighter. I dont think he can do the latter at 168.

lol at Calzaghe being fearful of Taylor. Why exactly? Joe's the better boxer, Taylor has no plan B, and he can't KO anyone above 154lbs.

I'd like to see Taylor v Froch, i'd pick Froch to win that one.

give the man a break. he's coming off two losses....the lacy fight is intended to get him back on the right track, by taking on a named opponent he should beat.

the point of the article was just to suggest the man has options...from 160-175. that's it. it wasn't suggesting he can beat this guy, or that guy, it was suggesting that if he beats lacy, which he should, he could pretty much get a fight in w/e division he wants. its a comeback story.

bottom line, is MOST of these guys are beatable. just throw taylor into the mix, and you got some very compelling matchups. the 160-175 bracket could end up being the most interesting weight set in boxing. plenty of fights. love or hate jermaine taylor, besides the spinks fight, he hasn't ducked anybody....

Agreed. No reason for him to take too much time getting comfortable, he should challenge any top guy in the division thats willing to fight him.
I look forward to seeing what Taylor can add to the already stack SMW division, lots of fights to be made.

I'm hardly giving him a hard time like many do Calzaghe am I, by just pointing out he's turned down a tougher fight for a belt, for a fight with someone Joe embarassed. He'd have to look better than Joe to get any credit, so it's a pointless fight imo. I understand the fancying a tune up fight, but it's too low in credibility. One of the main pro's is that he'd still be in the running for a belt at SMW AFTER this fight (still 6ish months away). Yet he's talking of going back to MW and nullifying that. So it would be yonks before he'll be getting anywhere. I wouldn't mind if he couldn't get the fights but he can, and a lot of guys would kill for such opportunities now.

Forget 160, Taylor has a WBC title shot waiting for him if he beats Lacy at 168.

taylor was only "starching" himself to make weight, because he ballooned up in between fights. my friend knows al haymon and al was saying he knew he was going to lose to pavlik. taylor had blown up to almost 200 pounds before training camp begun. what taylor needs is to be disciplined like BHOP was. BHOP never gained more than 15 pounds in between fights. He was a vegetarian. He didn't drink ANY alcohol. If taylor had that work ethic and tightened up his game ala Pavlik-Taylor II, he would be tremendous at 160. I think he should do it once he puts lacy to sleep. hopefully lacy will stop boxing. perhaps he can have a stellar movie career expounding upon his convincing performance in "The Hammer!"
