    Proposed new boxing record system...

I'm tired of people like Chavez Jr. having 38-0 records against no ones, and the casual fan thinking how much better he probably is than a Zab Judah who is 35-5...

How about this? They only introduce you by the record of what kind of fight you are fighting.

If you are in a championship fight, the record they introduce you with is your record in championship fights.

Daniel Ponce de Leon 8-1 (or whatever, didn't look it up)
    Juan Manuel Lopez 0-0

If you are in a nonchampionship fight, you can have your nonchampionship record or whatever, but they should be separate.

    Thoughts?

What about just having classes in boxing as they have in so many sports

Like top fighters are class A
    bottom is F so on

And it would be limited who can fight who
Clearly a Class A fighter wont be able to fight a class F guy

You would need to collect points etc

great amateur carrier would give a jump start, so on

    What about that?

its a good idea.but if they're gonna introduce a fighter with 0 champ fights i think they'll have to anounce his reg record.

Might as well mention how many casualities are attributed to watching a typical Winky Wright fight.

THAT is a good idea. No one should/would sanction anything more than a jump between one weight class for a fight.

            I'd say top 5 is A.

            6-15 is B.

            16-30 is C.

            31-50 is D.

            51-Whatever is F.

I'm just saying that it is misleading. I mean, really, there is a guy from Brazil who fought like 3 fighters with winning records and he retired 47-0... Seems ridiculous that he has a Marciano like record... but never got anywhere near to a title.

Blah, gotta make sure people know that he has never fought a championship fight though. Otherwise it will be 38-0 against like 10-1, even though 10-1 is the defending champ and likely the better fighter.
