oganov has the power but he is plodding and needs to learn how to jab or feint his way inside to land big shots, or move his damn head.....and he isnt terribly good at cutting off the ring toherwise he would have had dirrell in trouble quite a bit earlier

but yeah pretty ****** stoppage, oganov was getting dominated but c'mon he wasnt too busted up and was just starting to land some ok shots

Man, I know you love your white fighters and all, but this is just crazy. While I agree with you about it being a bad stoppage, to say Dirrell was just running the whole fight is so ridiculously and blatantly biased it's creepy. Dirrell threw so many god damn punches, especially compared to Oganov who just walked forward and hardly threw anything. He just kept walking forward straight into punches, hardly even trying to block them or defend against them.

The amount of punches Dirrell threw was crazy, for anyone! The guy is definitely no runner. He's a high volume speed boxer who uses good movement. If that was reversed and Dirrell was Oganov you would honestly be saying he was the greatest thing since Tapia, who was Mexican anyway, so that doesn't really make sense. Dirrell throws a lot of punches for any boxer in any weight division. I can't even begin to understand how you could think what Dirrell did was just running all night.

Oganov is way too small to be fighting at that weight. He looked like a midget in there. He should try to lose some bulk and go down a division. Any decent boxer could use the natural height and reach advantage over him too easily. His defense is also embarrassingly bad. Dirrell threw every single punch that's ever been used in boxing and then some, and all of them landed. I don't think you would have wanted him to take much more punishment than he already had at that stage if you were his corner. That's severe brain damage right there down the road for him.

I bet if you found punch stats they would be so far out ahead for Dirrell it would seem impossible that he could be any type of runner. The guy threw a million punches a round! How the hell can you say he's a runner?

no offense but where do you keep getting that crap that Dirrell is some punch machine? The fight was 6 rounds and he threw 259 punches by punchstat, that equates to 43 punches per round not exactly the highest average I've ever seen before. Hell I think Hopkins often throws more than that.

You've to be ****ing kidding me? Strongest p4p punching prospect? This guy is a bum and is 32 years old, he was never going to be a top 10 smw. He's just not a good fighter, great chin though.

Anyways the fight was for the WBO title eliminator, does that make Andre Dirrell #2 by the WBO? I know Denis Inkin is currently the WBO champion and will be facing Karoly Balzsay on January 10.

It looks like Andre Dirrell could be world champion soon, but what's Dirrel's scenario here? Does he immediately fight the winner of the Inkin-Balzsay match or fight someone else (possibly Andre Ward) before a championship bout?

I think Dirrell is one of the more exciting boxing prospects right now. He has a ton of upside and should just keep getting better as long as he stays focused and continues to train hard. I think he needs to improve quite a bit before he becomes an elite fighter, but I think that improvement comes with the experience of fighting more quality fighters. People want to hate on him for his "running" or lack of engaging action, but even the likes of pretty boy floyd was considered a runner... it's called being smart!!! if you have the speed use it. Speed is power. And Dirrell definitely has the speed he just needs to learn how to utilize it more efficiently and not punch himself out vs. a quality opponent unlike oganov.

No offense, but why do you keep debating on a fight you havent seen?
