Wrong. Mijares was a proven champion with 8 defenses, while David Diaz was pretty much no one with 1 controversial decision defense over Erik Morales. Mijares also can make the adjustments to beat Vic in a rematch. David Diaz can't.
come on bro. the dude looked like an amateur last night he looks like a kid that doesn't know what to do. let him be.

The thing is, Mijares can still make those adjustments and beat Vic in the rematch. It's not that outlandish to say. I mean I'm not saying that I'm a 100% sure he would, but he deserves the chance. I mean I can see why and I wouldn't mind a Montiel vs Darchinyan (infact I'd love it) fight or a donaire vs darchinyan 2, but I think Mijares deserves a shot at those titles.
I mean ****...if Zab Judah can keep getting that many chances, why can't mijares?

Mijares got dominated from the starting bell, he won one round tops (the 7th) and was knocked out because he was hit flush by two punches when he had his hands down.
He couldn't make an adjustment during the fight, he wont be able to make an adjustment for a rematch.

I agree he should still get bigger fights in his division, and if he were to beat someone like doniare, he would earn a rematch against Vic.
I did not see anything from the first fight that warranted a rematch.

Wrong. There are plenty of things Mijares could do to win the rematch and he can study to get better. Daisuke Naito was knocked out in 32 seconds by Pongsalekem Wonjonkom in their first fight, but was able to win their third match. There are other good examples of when fighters get embarrased, but do better in the rematch.
I agree that Mijares would normally need to prove himself, but who really is he going to fight that would actually guarantee a rematch? He's beaten pretty much everyone else out there and Montiel, Donaire, and Arce probably aren't going to give him shots.
That leaves:
-Nobou Nashiro (Who Mijares already beat Munoz, who beat Nashiro)
-Devid Lookahamak (Who lost to Arce barely, but is the WBC mandatory I think)
-Dimitri Kilrov (I guess, but Vic dominated him more easy then he did Mijares)
-Z Gorres (Would be a good fight, but would it warrant for the rematch)
Darchinyan's next fight should be Fernando Montiel for all the belts (WBO, WBC, WBA and IBF) including the Ring Magazine Jr. Bantamweight title, since Darchinyan will without doubt be the #1 rated fighter at that weight after deposing the former #1 in Mijares. Although I'm sure Darchinyan wants a shot at redemption against Donaire, I think he should unify all the titles first against Montiel and gain additional leverage in negotiations with Donaire, should he be successful. I'm sure Montiel will be far more difficult an opponent than Cristian Mijares was for Vic Darchinyan.
