Darchinyan wants Montiel next!

Let me ask you... were you excited by the prospect of Donaire's stock from his win over Darchinyan rising? I can't have been the only one.

I just got off the phone with Donaire about an hour ago or so, and he said that he expected this to happen. He said that's why he wanted to get to Mijares first because Mijares has trouble with southpaws.

You really have to be impressed with Donaire's achievement in light of his two dominant knockout performances against world titlists. Donaire didn't just beat Darchinyan, he absolutely dominated him. Donaire's fight with Arce will make him a star in the lighter divisions and set up a super fight rematch with Darchinyan, who you have to consider a live underdog now.

I was wrong thinkin a pure boxer like Mijares would own Vic. Montiel would put up a much better fight tho.

i havent seen montioel fight but if hes a puncher like you guys say he will get slaughtered trying to punch on with a guy like vic.....

you need good in and out movement to beat vic, you will get brutalised just standing still- ask mijares

I was saying this fight should happen. Montiel actually packs some punch so he wont be scared to open up like Mijares. Mijares seemed like he was just trying to prove he could take vics punches the whole night. He seemed confused with vics stance and style. But the main thing i was thinking of is how vic looked so much stronger than mijares...maybe mijares should move up in weight to add some muscle mass. I used to place mijares above montiel but I think montiel has a better chance of beating Vic now. Vic did have some good defense upgrades last night but he still opened up alot. I have Montiel beating vic.
