I feel the same way. Mijares was nothing like he usually is. His defense was about non existent. He didn't have that usual great side to side head movement that he usually has and his combination punching and accuracy was nothing close to his usual. It seemed like he just wasn't prepared. I won't use that as an excuse though because Vic just fought a great fight. His defense has improved and he used his awkwardness to his advantage big time. If he keeps fighting like this he's gonna be hard to beat.

I agree, I was cringing during the first round when I saw Mijares come out and try to slug it out with Darchinyan, he didn't fight his fight and he didn't use his very good defense to set up his offense. It was a good performance from Darchinyan so no excuses from me either but Mijares could have done much, much better.

I had the same feeling in that first round. I was like come on Christian what the hell are you doing. When he was getting his with those left hands consistently and then finally when he went down in the first round I knew he could have a long night. I was just hoping he would eventually find his groove or Vic would tire, but it just didnt' happen.
