After two ”easy” defences, it’s time for Moreno to face quality challenge. Unless the WBA #1 Sidorenko will be a mandatory, the #3 Sasha Bakhtin would make a good fight, assuming (which we do) the latter beats #4 Na Rachawat on New Year’s Eve.

Didn't we discuss the jr. bantams the other day? Hopefully, some of 'em will add that enormous extra 3 lbs. and set the bantamweight division on fire again. It is a bit shallow at the moment.

        Cheers

I'm sorry I really don't know anything about the bantamweight.
Who's the best in that division?

This guy, HOZUMI HASEGAWA, is ranked #1 by The Ring.

Jhonny Gonzalez impressed me a lot in his loss to Penalosa, but he has moved up to 122.

3 pounds its a big deal for superflyweights they cant just jump around weight classes like the bigger guys cause they dont walk around 30 pounds over their weight limit like some guys when they are not fighting
for example mijares told m.axbo.xing he walks around 118 arce also said he walks around 120 when not fighting
an exception would be hugo fidel cazares who is known to walk around 130

Hasegawa is for sure the no. 1 bantam at the moment. A challenger worth watching is undefeated Abner Mares. Also interesting, former WBA flywt. monarch Eric Morel is launching his comeback in this division, and as it isn't at its strongest, he might make it to the top.

And toluco, though I respect your opinion I disagree. With all these weight classes, and four or more crap bodies sanctioning, there are a lot of guys calling themselves 'world' champs, which they definitely ain't.

A world champion is to me a guy who undoubtedly stands above the rest. Today you almost got more title fights than non-title fights. Something is definitely wrong. And the fighters who really deserve the epithet WORLD CHAMPION vanish amongst the bunch holding bogus belts.

                That's sad. And unfair.

I'd like to add: a great 113-pounder always beats a less great 118-pounder. That's how it has worked for several decades (until the alphabetics invaded the scene), and that's what should be the preference of a REAL world champ.
