    Darchinyan-Mijares, intriguing outcome?

Before everyone goes crazy, im not saying the following will happens, but just suggesting an interesting scenerio.

Assuming the fight goes 12 rounds with no kos (mayorga comes to mind lol), who would you say won if it turned into a calzaghe-hopkins scenrio. There is no question that mijares will be faster and land more punches. At the same time there is no question that vic will land the more signifcant blows. Now assuming Vic stays in this and lands some substantial shots, yet Mijares kicks his ass in terms of punches thrown and landed. Who gets the win? Would it be a robbery if vic got the descision?
Everyone seems to think that Vic can only win by ko, but I was playing out scenrios in my head and I honestly think that the scernio above is more probable. Mijares has never been kod before and he doesnt really have the power to stop vic so its highly possible this goes to desicison. Then chances are the scenerio above will happen, the only question is what will the judges favor- stronger/heavier punches or quantity of?

Lastly please dont just say Mijares kicks his ass, mijares dance circles..., its pretty ovbious (even I think so) that everyone thinks Mijares win this by UD, but what if? Would you give it to mijares just because you dont like vic and want him to lose? Will vic lose because the judges are expecting him to (preconcieved opinions)? Or Can Vic get the nod due to landing more damaging punches? A lot of people to this day argue tooth and nail that Hopkins beat Calzaghe even though the compubox numbers are horrible in terms of comparison.

It might be that Vic can barely land on Mijares. The guy is a smart technician and has a good reach advantage.

In a close fight, then I'd give it to Mijares, but I can't look at this unbiased because I don't like Vic's style, it's too unorthodox to beat a smart boxer.

Seriously I dont know enough about Mijares to predict an outcome. i expect a good fight but I think Vic will most likely have the edge with his power and unorthodox style.

depends on exactly what you said, whether the judges prefer "stronger/more damaging punches or quantity" See I prefer QUALITY, the stronger, more damaging punches, which is why I still say B-Hop won that fight and if your scenerio plays out I'll give it the Vic

                1. It would be a disputed decision because I wouldn't give the guy who lands 1 big shot in a round over a guy who lands 7-8 good, clean shots.

                2. I disgaree, there's no guarantee that Darchinyan will land the more substantial shots in the fight.

                3. Mijares' power is underrated, it's much better then his record suggests, he just doesn't plant his feet often because he's always ready to move away from his opponents' shots but he has enough power to knock Darchinyan out, especially considering Darchinyan doesn't possess the best chin, no pun intended.

I've always tried to be as objective as possible during a fight even when a fighter I like is fighting against a fighter I don't like as much, as I said, it's hard to give a guy who lands 1 good shot a round the round over a guy who lands 7-8 good, damaging shots while possibly having less pop on the shots, they are still good, scoring shots.

I agree that 1 punch doesnt win a round but what about 7-8 strong shots, along with 18-20 clean shots, with a lot less pop. I think it becomes more gray in this area. Im not saying mijares punches are slaps, he can def do damage, but relatively he wont even come close to darchis power.

That's still double the connect percentage and Mijares' aren't that weak, even on his back foot, it's hard to not give him the round if he's landing double the amount of Darchinyan.

I can agree that Darchinyan definitely has more raw power than Mijares.
