Yeah, it's really sad, guys like him give everything in the ring, anyway after this fight he'll receive the recognition he deserves. This will be shooting practice for him.

      That heading doesn't read right.

Anyway, I still don't understand why the lower weight guys don't get paid anything. How can the majority of fans pay big $ for some hack heavy fight yet pay nothing for the little guys who throw more action into one round than a heavy does today in four fights!?

As someone else mentioned, Raf and Izzy should be damn multi-millionaires off their set of fights alone. The first fighters that ever got a million dollars for a fight under the WW limit was back when Gonzalez and Carbajal fought each other. That wasn't even that long ago and that was an absolutely massive fight. If that were a heavyweight fight it would have generated a ****ing mass amount of cash and they would have been paid 20 million at least each. It's a damn disgrace what they get paid. It's actually very rare for any fighter under the LW limit today to get a million or more. The only guys that have been consistently getting that recently were Barrera, Morales, Marquez and Pac and even they only got them for a few fights each, apart from Pac who is now getting more regularly.

      De****able!

Almost quarter of a million bucks isn't bad for an easy nights work!

Seriously for a minute though, it ain't that bad. Mijares and Darchinyan are not exactly household names and not many people really care about watching them. Me, I'm looking forward to seeing Mijares take Vic to school.

This ****en sucks 225 aint proper even less is 125, i hate to say it cause i really want to see this fight but they should have not made the fight they are getting robbed. Some one is making a killing off of this fight and its note the fighters.

After paying there corner people, manager and who knows who else they don't get left with anything close to the amount that is posted.

I hope they put on a great fight that no matter the loser they both get a great payday in there next fight.

Mijares will probalem take home 100 grand, Vic probably 60 grand. Doesn't seem much after taxes and what they pay there manager and corner. 10 percent to the trainer, another 15 or more to the manager, 5 cut man or a set pay, and don't know what the 3rd guy in the corner gets paid. Thats why fighters like Winky, Mosley, Trinidad, Hopkins, in the past have fought for higher pay rates because they realise how much is taken from there pay.

Yes, but when you take into consideration all the fees they have to pay such as the sanctioning fees, corner, management, team training etc etc, it wittles it down to very little to be honest. Anything under a million for a big title fight and the fighters don't end up with very much at all today. Sad, very sad.

Benny and ferocity, when you put it like that, it actually sucks. I assumed the 225K was after paying all those fees! Damn, that's rough.

They get what they are worth, that is the bottom line. If the economics of the fights dictated they were worth more money then they would be paid accordingly. It doesn't, so they aren't.
