Rocky 1
Rocky 2
Rocky 5
Rocky 3
Rocky 4
Rocky 6
Rocky 4 is overrated, it's a fun film to watch but it's just a cheesy 80s action film, like Rocky 3 but there's a bit more story to Rocky 3. The criticism Rocky 5 gets is totally disgraceful, and all because Stallone went for a more story oriented approach rather than an action one. Most morons wanted another impossible opponent, but how do you get more impossible than Ivan Drago? How about have Ivan Drago, Clubber Lang and Thunderlips in the ring against Rocky all at once? No, with Rocky 5 he faces a tougher battle, not physically, but mentally and emotionally. There's no emotion in Rocky 3 or Rocky 4. Mickey's and Apollo's death are played out within 2 or 3 scenes then totally disgarded, but with Rocky 2 a lot of the film shows Rocky trying to earn a living outside of boxing, but struggling to hold down a job, it has an awesome "down on your chips" feel to it and then when Adrian goes into the coma and Rocky is reading that poem to her, that is emotional. Then Rocky 5, shows the bankrupcy and the brain damage plot which hang over the entire film, the emotional flash back with Mickey in the gym and then the eventual backstabbing of Tommy Gunn dealing with big issue in boxing, corruption, he's not fighting for a title anymore...he's fighting for pride and his family's peace. Gunn wouldn't relent until he got Rocky then when you see Rocky and his family walking off at the end, it hits you....this is Rocky, this is the man who doesn't need the money, the fame....he's left with his pride, his family by his side he's gone full circle proving his worth in life.Comment

i liked rocky 4, i think it is. with dolph lundgren as ivan draego.
man, james brown is in that movie - haters of that movie need beatings.
i also loved the old school hard core training rock does in that movie. he seemed toughest in that movie than he was in any other rocky movie.
and, dolph lundgren is no chump. far from it. he is a full contact karate champion and is a real fighter. so, i am sure there was some interesting ring scenes that only made it to dvd.
didn't dolph break stallone's rib(s) in a first or second fight scene take? u guys didn't know that, did ya??Comment

But here's a funny story about Rocky Balboa.

Sylvester Stallone was rushed to hospital after he was knocked unconscious on the set of new Rocky movie 'Rocky Balboa'.
The film crew initially failed to call emergency services thinking the Hollywood legend - who had suffered a vicious blow to the head in the ring - was still acting.Comment
